With the holiday spirit in the air, it is a great time to visit one of San Marcos’ landmark attractions, Wonder World Cave & Adventure Park. It is the only true earthquake dry-formed cave in the United States and allows visitors the chance to go deep underground to witness up close the awesome power of a major quake. Inside the topsy-turvy Anti-Gravity House, everything is backward and even water flows uphill. Aboard the train, you can splash through the waterfalls of Mystery Mountain as you journey to the Texas Wildlife Petting Park. A fully guided tour lasts about 2 hours and also includes the observation tower. The park has several picnic areas and the Soul Creations food truck. Book online before you go.

Spending the holidays in Austin is always a treat as the city is brightened by light displays and heartwarming annual traditions. The 57^th annual Austin Trail of Lights at Zilker Park is an essential Austin experience, lighting up the season with a celebration of community, memories, and fun. This year, it is a drive-thru event. Say howdy to 2022 at Austin’s New Year to celebrate the end of the year past and the new one about to dawn. The event at Auditorium Shores on December 31st, features live music on multiple stages (it’s Austin, after all) vibrant fare served up by local food trucks, and a countdown to a fireworks display using the illuminated city skyline as its canvas.
