Austin 2022 Summer Festivals
It’s a particularly hot summer in Austin, but that’s not going to stop the live music capital of the world from throwing some great summer festivals. Texas Auto Center is here with some of our favorites to round out the summer season. Need a fresh ride to get there? Come to Texas Auto Center and we’ll get you behind the wheel and on your way to one of these great events!
Float Fest
If there is one festival that will only benefit from the warm weather, it is Float Fest. What better way to beat the Texas heat than enjoying a concert from the comfort of your own raft on the cool water of the Guadalupe River? Just a small sample of the 2022 headliners: Vampire Weekend, Cage the Elephant, Deadmau5, Chvrches, Kaytranada, and Quinn XCII. The event starts on the 23rd of July and runs through the 24th. It’s set up with no overlapping sets, so you can catch all the acts!
Bat Fest
Bat Fest will be held on August 27th with two stages’ worth of acts under the Congress Ave bridge. These acts currently include Toadies, Chamillionaire, The Unlikely Candidates, Fetty Wap, Lil Flip, The Nixons, Bun B, and DJ Shaynea. The real stars of the show will emerge sometime after 7 pm when around one-and-a-half-million bats take off for their nightly flight. Food and drink vendors will be on hand and there will be a fun bat costume contest!
Here and There Festival
If you’re looking for some local flavor that’s a little more low-key than the big Austin music festivals, the Here and There Festival may be just the ticket. The creation of Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett, the minifestival is touring around the country with a rotating lineup of local acts in each city. In Austin, the event is happening on September 1st and will feature Barnett, Indigo De Souza, Ethel Cain, and more.
2022 Fall Pecan Street Festival
Combining arts and music is an Austin tradition and the 2022 Fall Pecan Street Festival does it well. It starts on September 17th and ends on the 18th. The event occurs on East 6th Street (Old Pecan St) between Brazos and I-35. It includes a little something for everyone. Local music will be provided by over forty acts, and there are food vendors and lots of kid-friendly activities as well.
